One goal I have for next year is teaching my boys Godly character traits. I wanted to create something visual to be used during our school time. With the help from Hubbard’s Cupboard info on character, I created this!
My plan is to laminate each page. We will focus on one each week, so I will have that on our morning board. There’s a lot you can do with each of these. This can get you started!
Enjoy! Oh, and please let me know if you see any mistakes!
I LOVE these!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
What a wonderful resource! Thanks for sharing!

Looks good! :)
Fantastic! : ) Thank you so much for sharing them.
So cute! You did a great job! :) They remind me of Hubbards Cupboard a little. They have some things that might go along with what you’ve created. Here’s the link if you’ve never seen it:

That was an excellent resource for me to use when I made this. I should have credited them earlier, so I just did. I’m not so new to this blog thing to post updates for family and friends, but I am new to the whole sharing my ideas out there in the blog world!
I know what you mean! I am new to it too. :)
Your blog is really sweet. I’ll be popping in again!
Hi, thanks so much for sharing these, they look great, I’m off to print!
Help with character is always appreciated. Thanks for the file. Enjoyed visiting your site.
Hi, Sarah. I like the pages you’ve created. Very nice! I’ve been working on Godly character with my 4 and 7 year-olds. I found a set of books called “A Child’s Book of Character Building: Growing Up in God’s World – At Home, at School, at Play” by Ron & Rebekah Coriell. For each character trait they site a verse then give a story and full page picture (black & white drawing) showing how the character trait was used in the Bible, at home, at school, and at play. We try to go over a story each day while we are eating lunch. My boys really like it. So, if you did a story each day, that would take four days to cover one character trait. The last day of the week could be reviewing what you went over the other four days. Book 1 covers these character traits: attentive, faith, creative, diligence, patience, contentment, obedience, wisdom, tenderhearted, thankfulness, honesty, and joyfulness. Book 2 covers meekness, loyalty, responsibility, self-control, orderliness, discernment, forgiveness, fairness, tolerance, initiative, love, and generosity. I think book two is out of print, so you’d have to buy it used. I think I found my at Amazon.com for pretty cheap. For older kids (maybe 8+), Proverbs People by Rick and Marilyn Boyer is good.
Thanks again for sharing this with us!
Julie
P.S. Your boys are absolutely adorable! What smiles!
Sarah,
Thank you so much for sharing these! They’re great. I can’t wait to use them with my children – they’ll be a big help.

Thanks so much for sharing these! They are just what I was looking for ~ you can see how I am using them here: http://delightfullearning.blogspot.com/2010/08/calender-and-morning-board-routine.html
Thanks again! =)
These are AWESOME!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I did this with my kids growing up. Thankfully halfway through diligently “teaching” these qualities someone reminded me not to be so busy “teaching” these qualities that I miss recognizing when they are begin exhibited in others and especially my own children. And to recognize progress even while they are still learning them by speaking a word of encouragement over them as they are learning even though they have not arrived at the total definition of the quality.
AND pray for them in their weak areas.
Because God gives us all strength to do things that are not in our character!
Can’t wait to use them! Thanks for sharing your creativity :)
I absolutely LOVE these! I love the focus on building Godly traits and they’re so darn cute that they’ll look beautiful hanging on the wall to boot!
Thanks so much!!
a wonderful resource! thanks for sharing
This is awesome – thank you so much! I made a list that included several of these and this just saved me a whole lot of brain power! AWESOME!

just was referred by moneysavingmom to your site…as soon as i arrived, i thought, “wow, those are some really adorable boys!” =) anyway, now i’m checking out your character trait sheets; we don’t have children yet, but for the future maybe? =) thanks so much!
These are fabulous, and just what I’ve been looking for! It’s hard (at least I haven’t been successful) to find character training materials for the under age 6 or 7 crowd.
Thanks for sharing them!

Are these definitions from the original dictionary or from today’s dictionary. Just curious.
I downloaded these at the beginning of the summer and have used them over & over with my kids. They’re little so they’re learning slowly but these are great visual teaching tools. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Thank you so much! this is a great addition to our character curriculum!!
I just found your site…Oh MY!!! I am SOOO excited! Thank you so much for these character trait cards!!! EXACTLY what I needed for my 3 girls!! YAY!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
I’ve been so excited about this all week that I linked up to it on my blog. My kids are finally “getting it” with some concepts that have been difficult for them to understand. THANK YOU for this! This has been incorporated into our daily Bible lesson.
Love it!
Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to using them with my children and the children at church. God bless you.
Thank you, this is wonderful; keep up the great work and thanks for making this for others to use!!!
These are great! I am laminating them back to back with a colored sheet of paper in-between (so they don’t show through). We’ve started the first trait in our homeschool. I’m working on doing the attributes of God this way too. Thanks for the inspiration!
I really like these!! I have printed them off and I will be using them with our daily family devotional time. :) I couldn’t have found these at a better time! My son is going through some character building and this will give us a positive and fun way to help him through this time.
Awesome! This is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been searching for!
We just finished the Hubbard’s Cupboard Bible study of character traits! What a fun way this is to continue our character trait unit into the next year! Thank you for such a wonderful resource!
I’m so glad these are being used! To God be the glory!
Finally printed these out & ready to laminate! I want to be more purposeful in praising my children’s character & these will help all of us so much! Thanks!
THANKS just finishing a blog post featuring these with a link back of course!! This is exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you so much for sharing these! This will be a great help as we homeschool. God bless you!
This is such a cute idea! Thank you for sharing. I am teaching character traits at co-op this semester and this will be so helpful!!! Thank you! I look forward to reading your blog often.

Found these on Pinterest and love them!!! Thanks!
That’s great! May God be glorified!
Thank you! I love these! As a first-gen Christian, I did not have many of these things modeled for me and I find it hard to turn the tides and model these for my own children, let alone TEACH them. I am always at a loss for words when I try to explain WHY a behavior is undesireable (or why, specifically, it is good). These will be a great help to my family. Blessings to you and your family for sacrificing time to help others by putting these together and sharing!
Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful templates! I am new to the world of blogging, and have found your blog to be a treasure. We just finished up our Calendar Board and used these templates to display our featured trait of the Month. Of course, we linked back to you. Check out the post if you like:

I just printed these to laminate them to give to our christian school and a copy for myself for my children. These are wonderful and I am going to share your link with my family and friends.

Thank you so much, I agree with the above comments! i have been looking for a way to teach character traits and the programs are expensive that I have seen. I printed out al the pages and will laminate them for our calendar board! As a mama to two boys I appreciate what you do!!
I’ve been using these for several weeks now with my preschooler. She really likes these and seems to be thinking about them a great deal.
Here’s how I’ve used them: I printed 4 to a sheet on cardstock, then laminated them. Finally, I put a magnet on the back.
Each week we go over a new character trait and talk about what that means. Throughout the week, we’ll review it. It’s easy for my daughter to review them with them being on display on the refrigerator, as she can just run into the kitchen and grab this week’s card.
Thanks so much for this resource! I plan to use them again with her next year for kindergarten.
I’m having trouble downloading theses. I’m hovering over where it says “click here” and nothing happens. I tried clicking on the image itself and nothing happened there either. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi there! I just tested it, and it seems to be working fine. Click on the image to see pdf. Send me an email if it doesn’t work!
It keeps telling me the file is damaged and could not be repaired. Any suggestions?
It is working for me, so I am not sure. Send me an email and I will send the file back to you!
Thank you for making these character trait cards. I am looking forward to laminating and using them with my children for many years.
Blessings unto you and your family, these are exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for sharing them!
Hi, I can not click on the link… Can you please help??? I am interested in these cards for my kiddos :)
Hi :) I got it figured out… These look great, thank you for sharing!!!
