“The sun rises, the day begins, and the world begins clamoring for your time. But the whisper of God calls you to be with Him – and it’s the best part of your day.”
I was excited to receive this book to review. I have always loved Charles Stanley. I have read several of his books. This one is just as good as the rest.
I will have to agree that this is a great way to start your day. Each day gives you a recommended reading from scripture, a key verse and an inspirational and instructional message. It ends with a short prayer. I do like the fact that it is labeled with each day of the year. That is always a big help to stay on track.
An example from October 24:
The Favor of God
Scripture Reading – I Samuel 3: 1-1-
Key Verse – Psalm 90:12 – “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Does God care more for you than He does anybody else? Does He care less for you than He does anybody else? No. God cares for you in precisely the same manner He does for each of His children – with complete justice, fairness, goodness, and equality. His forgiveness is offered to you personally. His love is custom designed to meet your most excruciating emotional and spiritual needs. His Word speaks to you intimately. He calls you by name as He did Samuel (I Sam. 3). He is intimately acquainted with every single one of your peculiar ways. (Ps.139) and has numbered each of your days on planet Earth (Ps.90:12). Yet you are not to stand still and bask in all this attention lavished on you. God takes care of you, His workmanship, so that you may engage in a lifetime of extending His goodness to others. Assured of Christ’s unstinting, unreserved grace and favor toward you in every circumstance, you may wake up each day with a positive outlook and the knowledge that He is at work through you to accomplish His objectives. God has designed good works for you today that no one but you can do.
Thank You, dear Lord, that You know me by name. You are intimately acquainted with every one of my ways and have numbered my days.
It’s a beautiful book. Even the front photograph is by Charles Stanley! I recommend adding this one to your library. It would also make a lovely gift!
