Friday was a busy exhausting day, but also a very fulfilling day. A lady in our church ministers to widows, particularly during the Valentine holiday season. So my boys and I headed over to her gorgeous house to get ready for the luncheon.  I dressed them up a bit, because I knew there would be plenty of ladies checking them out…

We were all ready with lovely decorations and treat boxes…

We served twenty-two sweet little ladies.  One had just turned 95 years old!

These ladies get together once a month and make meals for the needy.  Another family delivers them around town.  We are going to get involved with this, too.

We couldn’t have done something like this during the day if we weren’t a homeschooling family, and I am happy for that. The flexibility is great.  And the experience was priceless.  The night before we went, we talked to the boys about how the Bible instructs us to love and care for the widows.  They were excited and momma was nervous.  But it turned out so well.  We are so glad we did it!
