We had a nice weekend around here.  The block party on Sunday went really well.  It was so neat to see so many people from the neighborhood in my backyard!  The weather was perfect as my Lord held off the rain once again. I think new friendships were started and walls were broken down between some.  It was such a blessing.   The main reason we had the gathering wasn’t so great.  A gentleman in our court had become very ill very quickly, so we gathered together to support the  family.  That gentlman passed away this week, so I am glad we did it.  My heart aches for his wife and daughter.  They are such a sweet family.

We had more bad news for the neighborhood.  Our Hershey dog passed away, too.  If you have been to my house, you have met Hershey.  Everyone always thought he was ours.  He was a great dog, and will be missed greatlly by the whole neighborhood.

We’ve had a busy week, but filled with some fun summer times.

Monday we ran a few errands and went to the splash pad again.  Tuesday we went swimming.

Wednesday we went strawberry picking.  We have had a fun strawberry unit study going this week.  More on that later, but here are my sweeties at the patch…

On the way back from berry picking, I surprised the boys by taking them to the Children’s Museum.  We had a great time.

Yesterday we spent at home getting ready for our next camping trip!  We are going with some friends, and we are really looking forward to it!

The boys went to a friend’s VBS every night this week and have had such a wonderful time.  We are tired, so we look forward to a relaxing weekend!
